Mike Uniacke, owner of Advantage Home Performance, has a long history of championing energy efficient building and design. Mike started teaching Building Science as an adjunct faculty member at Yavapai Community College in Prescott, AZ in 1991. He witnessed so many problems in brand new homes regarding insulation issues that he decided to open an insulation company in response to these problems. He opened Advanced Insulation in 1997.
Over the years the team at Advanced Insulation kept adding services in order to better serve our customers. Our best new construction insulation customers asked us to offer heating and air conditioning because they were not happy with the HVAC systems being installed in the homes they were building. In 2012 we added an HVAC license. In 2012 we also changed the company’s name to Advantage Home Performance to reflect the fact that we offer much more than insulation.
Today our focus is on both existing homes and new construction. We would rather work for a quality conscious home owner than a builder who is simply focused on the lowest bid price. We have a handful of builders who truly appreciate what we deliver in terms of quality and customer service and we value our relationship with these companies. We also enjoy working with owner builders because they typically place a value on quality work, energy efficiency and building a home that is going to perform really well.
